Plastic bones

How would the knock on your head sounds when you’ve got a plastic skull?

It may sound a little weird, but health care is getting quite a boost ever since the 3D printer is on a roll. Not even a month ago, the first printed skull is implanted in a woman’s head. The skull was specially made for the patient. After measuring her exact skull, they could reconstruct it with a 3D printer. Implants have never been this detailed before.

The woman received the surgery, because of her own skull was growing thicker and it was causing great pressure to her brain. This could lead to dead.

The implant was a lot thinner and gave the brain space again. There was never removed so much skull before. The surgery passed with great success.

This is cool, because this gives an opportunity to repair and replace a lot more bones. Something of plastic material could actually do well to the body.

For the future this would mean that more lives can be saved and people continue to live longer than ever. Is that something we want, or would it cause even greater problems to the world? Health is straight in line with over-population. This could lead to a lack of space, food and care. What do you think? Is this surgery even a improvement?
